Rand Paul previewed his upcoming presidential campaign in a new video, raising the curtain before an official announcement of his candidacy expected Tuesday. In a nearly three-minute video released on his website Sunday, Paul highlighted his outreach to minority voters, his 12-hour filibuster in 2013 of John Brennan’s nomination as CIA director, and his libertarian policies. In the promotional video, pundits express their admiration of Paul in a series of montages, and Paul is shown riling up a crowd at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in February. The libertarian-minded conservative will formally enter the GOP presidential race on Tuesday during a rally in Louisville, Ky., where Paul will become the second major Republican to announce his candidacy for president, following Texas Sen. Ted Cruz last month. “It’s time for a new way,” Paul says in the clip from his CPAC speech. “A new set of ideas. A new leader, one you can trust.
